I am reaching out with bad news. Unbeknownst to any of us at the Guild, our prescription plan has been dramatically changed. So far from what I'm seeing our deductibles and out of pocket for other medical stuff is the same, but in all fairness, I haven't had the time to dive into it as I just realized there was a problem this morning.
Right now, we are aware of a HUGE impact to your prescription drug coverage. We have members seeing increases anywhere between $10 to $7200 a month.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
Please, call your pharmacy and find out how much your drugs were last year and what they are now and send me an email or text message with those 2 numbers. Keep in mind, this is for every person that is on your medical plan, not just you. We want to track the financial impact this has on each of our members, so that's your whole covered family. Also, it's not required but it is helpful if you note if there is a specific medication that increases by an absurd amount. For instance, including a detail like: my wife's diabetic equipment went from $35 a month to $455 a month is very important because we'll be able to argue these aren't elective devices or conditions.
I'll be making an spreadsheet so we can track the impact and use actual data when we address these increases with HR and the insurance company next week.
To be clear, we do not currently know where this change originated; we don't know if the plan change was made by LEOFF, Premera, HR or someone else. That will be part of what we are researching next week during office hours.
